Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss your goals for therapy. I’ll ask about your background, concerns, and hopes for the therapeutic process. This session helps me understand your unique needs, and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions about my approach or how we’ll work together. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable, heard, and understood.
I offer a range of evidence-based approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Therapy. These therapies allow us to tailor the sessions to your specific needs, helping you heal, grow, and reach your goals.
I work with clients on a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship issues. My practice focuses on individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I am here to help you with any challenges affecting your mental and emotional well-being.
Therapy is unique for everyone, and the duration depends on your goals and personal journey. Some clients may benefit from short-term work focused on specific issues, while others may prefer longer-term support for ongoing growth and self-discovery. We’ll discuss what feels right for you, and we can adjust as needed along the way.
Yes, I am committed to making therapy accessible and offer a sliding scale to work with clients based on their financial situation. I believe that healing should be within reach for everyone, and we can discuss a fee structure that feels manageable for you.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy, and everything we discuss remains private, with a few exceptions related to safety or legal requirements. I’m happy to explain confidentiality in detail so that you feel secure in our work together.
Typically, sessions are held weekly and last around 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions can vary depending on your needs and preferences, and we can meet either in person or virtually based on what feels best for you. We’ll work together to create a schedule that supports your goals and fits your lifestyle.
Starting therapy is a personal decision. Many people find therapy helpful for gaining insight, developing coping skills, and creating meaningful change in their lives. If you’re considering therapy, I offer a consultation to discuss your questions and goals. This initial conversation can help you determine if therapy feels like a good fit for you at this time.
Yes, I offer services in both English and Spanish. I am dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care for all clients and am here to support you in whichever language you feel most comfortable.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to offer your appointment time to another client. If notice is not provided within this timeframe, a cancellation fee may apply.
