I’m a bilingual therapist with roots in Chile, who has navigated what it means to not be from here, nor there. Having moved around a lot in my life, I have experienced a lot of changes and learning how to navigate them has impacted how I see myself and how others see me as well. Some of these identities, I get to decide and some are given to me by society, policies, culture, people and relationships.
Therapy to me is your space to explore just that, how you see yourself verses how the world sees you. This polarization can make you feel stuck and out of control. It can lead to mistrusting yourself and place greater trust in others. However, I hold the belief the answers and trust you seek in others already exists within you.
Therapy with me is patient, playful, and centered around you. That means we will go at your pace ensuring we are building a relationship where you feel safe to explore, reflect and grow. With compassion, courage, and connectedness, we’ll uncover your authentic wants and needs—strengthening your inner confident voice while softening the inner critic that lives in fear and worry. My role is to collaboratively process your inner world with curiosity and honor the scars you may wear, not as deficits, but as part of creating the transformation you’ve always dreamed of.
I offer both in-person sessions in Houston and virtual sessions across Texas, providing flexibility to meet your needs.
As a Latina, I honestly did not know what a social worker was or what a therapist did. However, when I attended San Diego State University where I graduated with my Bachelors in Child and Family Development, I learned how we are all impacted by the systems around us, whether that is our family, friends, community or society, government and policies. This sparked a passion to help people navigate the world around them. After working with immigrants and underprivileged communities, I attended and received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. I became a clinical social worker because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be their authentic self. Over the years, I’ve seen how powerful it is to feel truly seen, especially when life feels heavy or confusing.
Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of working with youth, adults, and families across a variety of settings—from immigration shelters and community outreach programs to schools, in-patient treatment centers, and outpatient care—supporting individuals impacted by physical and sexual abuse, addiction, and attachment wounds. I also support individuals and families throughout the treatment process, providing guidance and care every step of the way.
Being trained in EMDR and a Level 2 Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner, provides me with tools to guide clients through their trauma with cultural sensitivity and care.
Why Empatía Wellness?
Through my own journey, I’ve discovered the inner calm that arises when I am willing to face the dark and heavy parts of my mind, approaching them with curiosity and self-compassion. This has shown me that it’s possible to trust oneself and navigate life’s challenges, a realization I am passionate about helping others reach—especially when trusting anyone, including oneself, feels impossible at first.
Empatía Wellness is my way of creating space for you to feel supported, understood, and free to grow in your own time.
Empatía translates to empathy. It is something we all are deserving of, let me share my Empatía with you!
Healing should be within everyone’s reach, and financial barriers should not prevent access to quality care. I offer a sliding scale to work with clients on a structure that feels manageable for them. Together, we can find an arrangement that respects both your financial situation and the care you deserve.
